Executive Director Vince Whibbs, Jr., of Re-Entry Alliance Pensacola, Inc. (REAP), has announced that the REAP’s Lodges and Emergency Shelter for women and women with children will be closing within the next week.

WEAR Channel 3 News coverage went into detail, explaining that 35 women and children who are residents at a Pensacola homeless shelter are being forced to move soon.

Mr. Whibbs clarified that REAP will do its best to ensure that every woman and child currently housed in the Lodges will be offered a place to stay at either the REAP Max-Well Respite Center or another safe REAP location.

Mr. Whibbs is now asking for support to help them ensure that these women and children have the essentials they may need to continue transitioning from the REAP programs into sustainable housing and long-term employment. Mr. Whibbs wants to thank everyone for their unending support, continued assistance, aid, and encouragement.

Mr. Whibbs also states that much more support is essential to help REAP to continue to serve the homeless and communities’ needs, including single women with children, Veterans, single men with children, families, returning citizens, the elderly, the transgender and LGBTQ community, individuals, and couples.
